About Me

           Fresh Faces

Here at Fresh Faces (the clue is in the name) my aim is to help my clients feel and look their best; relieve stress and ultimately boost their confidence.  To achieve this goal I intend to make each client feel they are the most important person in the world for the duration of their treatment.  I certainly feel they are!

Before I decided to become a Beauty Therapist I suffered with severe acne and the low self esteem which goes along with the condition.  It was not until my mid twenties when, through a combination of strong acne medication, regular facial treatments and finding a range of products which suited my skin, that I finally ended the decade of spots!

Thankfully my mum had drilled into me from an early age the importance of a nightly cleanse, tone and moisturise (always using damp cotton wool - very smart lady my mum!) so I survived the condition with very little skin marking or damage.   Having a clear complexion gave me a whole new lease of life, I felt happier, more confident; ready to face the world.  So when it came time to give my business a name it was an easy decision.  I want to help people to show their real face to the world, not a troubled oily one or a dry flaky one and especially not an overly made up false one but a fresh natural face they can be proud of.

Although it was an evening class in aromatherapy which enticed me into the world of Beauty Therapy (incidentally it was again my mum who convinced me to go to the class with her – thanks mum!) it has been the positive effect of each and every treatment that I do which has led to my love of the job.   At that time you could not purely study aromatherapy, you had to do the full Beauty Therapy course, so I left my job of 4 years and went back to college for 3 years.  At college I found my true vocation, I had always known I wanted to work with my hands but had been unsure of exactly how.  So here I am doing a job I love to the best of my abilities.

Fresh Faces has been an established beauty salon for over twenty five years, offering top class treatments to all its clientele. The salon had always been located within hair dressing salons but at the beginning of 2010 I made the move to my own salon and have never looked back.  The extra space and the brightness of being on the ground floor (in my previous location I was in the basement), actually having daylight in the treatment room has brought a new level of enjoyment to a job I already loved.  All treatments have been refined and improved over the years.  Through extensive research I have selected products which produce the best results and are based on ingredients and principles which I personally believe in.

I have personally practiced yoga for over 30 years, and in 2018 I was lucky enough to be approached by one of my yoga teachers who asked if I would be interested in doing my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training Course. The lady in question is a superb teacher and a personal favourite of mine, so for my own personal development, I signed up. During the course I discovered a real sense of joy in the act of teaching, helping to guide people on the amazing journey which is yoga. From here the idea of integrating yoga into Fresh Faces was born. As part of the salon renovation and rebranding, as ‘Fresh Faces Beauty & Wellbeing by Susan Hall’. In 2019/20, Jim and I created a space to be used purely for Yoga. The yoga studio is the most peaceful, tranquil and amazing space to escape from the outside world and have some time, just for yourself.
